Building Repairs for the Orphanage Hogar Infantil Jesus Nazareno,Isabela, Puerto Rico |

The purpose of this Deed Project was to repair the leaking roof of the orphanage Hogar Infantil Jesus Nazareno. In addition, the ceiling of the orphanage was painted to cover the stains created by the leaks and to remove the peeling paint.
Hogar Infantil Jesus Nazareno is a non-profit organization that provides emergency care services for abused and neglected children. It provides clothing, medical care, educational services, counseling, and proper diet to children of both genders from one to eight years of age. Just as important, this home also provides the love, care, family atmosphere, personal attention, and quality of life that the children who live there were missing in their lives.
This project was completed with the loving and generous support of the youth and leadership of Bedford Christian Church from Bedford, Kentucky. Coordinated as their church’s annual mission trip, these young and energetic volunteers provided the labor needed to power pray the roof, apply the sealing material, paint the ceilings, and do some much needed yard work around the home. Bedford Christian Church provided the majority of the funding required to complete the project and the Chapel Team from Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen provided lodging, meals, and other logistical support. Their generosity, kindness, and loving friendship are a tremendous testament of their action-backed faith.
After several days of hard work, the project culminated with a fantastic picnic where the volunteers had the opportunity to share with the children of Hogar Infantil. There were songs, games, a bouncing house, great food, and plenty of love to go around. Thank you to the Bedford Christian Church and the Chapel Team from Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen, PR for doing God’s awesome work.
